Yes, there's bokeh here (by my definition, anyway) but in a sense it kinda detracts from the rose rather than highlights it. I think I'd prefer to see more of the rose in the frame - and it is a lovely wild rose.

Really glad you didn't light the sparkler... the ensuing explosions probably would have made for an interesting albeit very "blown" shot. Definitely meets the challenge; very colorful, extremely sharp, fairly well exposed except as you noted with respect to your face. All that said, I'd probably have given it a 6. A good challenge entry, but you have lots better pictures. :-)

Have to admit I didn't even look through the Indulgence challenge. That said, this is a sweet car - definitely fits the challenge! I particularly like how you've framed the shot with the manufacturer name just above the car - that works nicely for an advertising shot for instance. I think you've done a great job with the lighting as it existed in the venue - car show or dealership - whichever. Nit (and you can't fix it in basic) is to clone out the yellow lettering on the left. Other than that, just a bit oversharpened - can see some jaggies along the edges of the car.

Heh! LOVE that expression! Definitely meets the challenge. I didn't vote in this one but would have given it a 6. What probably hurt the score (I haven't read other comments yet) is that the lighting seems rather harsh on the framing element; it's a bit overpowering, even though the subject is well-lit. Maybe a tighter crop would help, but I kinda like it the way it is as far as composition.
