You scumbag! How dare you hijack Aimee's idea! :-)
Seriously, though, this is very funny and well done. I like the stark white background and I actually like the border, too. I'm not always fond of borders, but I suspect this wouldn't work without it.
You stole your wife's idea?? Heh. Good story, though - I always enjoy reading the stories behind your pictures. |

A short girl's perspectiveby Rae-AnnComment: Heh - without even looking at the picture, I have to tell you I love the title. :-) I do like the picture, too. Sky's a bit bright, but I LOVE the textures and colors of the wall and windows. |

I really like these kinds of images - simple, but seem to quietly hint there's a story to tell (whether there really is or not.) This one is well done. Duotone works well here, and the focus of the image (the 10) is well placed. Technicals are good - focus is crisp. The shadows imply it's about mid-day. If you get the chance (and you're at all interested in doing so) try reshooting this when it's overcast to get rid of the harsh shadow, or better yet, when the shadow might be longer or at a slightly different angle. I offer this suggestion because I'd like to see either more of the door, or less of it, going back to the "story to tell" kind of idea. |

Oh my gosh! First, congratulations on meeting your prediction by getting a new personal best and a 6.0+ score! Second, and more importantly, this is a breathtaking photograph! The perspective is excellent and the composition, with the soft water and the line of clouds, frames the line of boats beautifully. The colors are soft and not too overpowering, adding to the peaceful, serene feeling this image beautifully imparts. Very, very well done! |

LOL! What a novel approach to the challenge! From the scores, it looks like some folks just don't step outside their boxes too often, do they? It may be title-dependent, but this is very clever - your shots show great imagination. Colors are very nice and rich - I like the yellow of the house with the blue of the water and green of the trees. I'd have given this a 6 or a 7. |

I don't know whether this was coached or you just got lucky, but she certainly has that "I'm too sexy for my floatie device" look going for her! A bit "snapshot centered" - some open space to the right and less on the left would create a pleasing balance (or so the photo books tell me). I like the lighting but wish there was a tad more on her face, and I like the colors - rich and vibrant. WAY underscored, but I suspect a lot of that was DNMC votes. I really do like her look! |

Peering Through Timeby ericwooComment: Trading Post comment
I really like this kind of "perspective" shot and appreciate the double meaning with the perspective of time. The toning serves you well in that respect. My biggest nit with this is the opening at the other end so far over to the right - my eye wants it a bit closer to the "third" for balance. Nice textures and depth. Good to see you back in the challenges, too! |

Adding for Tensby nards656Comment: Trading Post comment
Definitely meets the challenge, except the poor little 5 in the lower left, which doesn't add with anyone to make 10. Technically exposed and composed well, and sharp. The part that kinda grabs your attention is trying to figure out just what the figures are on the cards - adds an interesting element! |

Toys Are Fun!!by tngrndreamComment: Trading Post comment
I like the creativity! I didn't vote in this challenge, but I do remember this one from flipping through the thumbnails. I suspect it's rather plain as a photograph outside of the challenge, but I do like when people try stuff like this for specific challenges. From an exposure standpoint, the black letters are a little underexposed - a tweak on levels might bring them out a bit. |

Crappy score for what I think is a pretty good representation of Perspective (and a rather clever title, I might add.) Good solid black background and nicely exposed to get detail in the illuminated candles without blowing the flame. To make it better? Maybe have a bit more depth from the front to the back candle and experiment a bit with DOF. |
