Nice find - I like the "face" - and echo the comments about the bluish tint to the leaf. The pine needles make the perfect background in color, texture, and lines.

Gotta say I don't think I've ever seen the bulbs like you're describing. I think what hurts this is the noise in the bird, though given what it is you're shooting, I'm not quite sure how to avoid that.

Hey Jeff, you ALMOST qualified for my "No comments received during a challenge ribbon".

I didn't vote on this challenge and in fact, sadly, really never took the time to even look through it. What I really like - the deep rich color and spectrum of the green leaves and the way the light slides down the center of them. What I'm not so sure about is the composition - something seems just slightly out of balance to me, though I'm not sure what I'd do to change it. The red of the flower may be just a touch overexposed - don't know if you can change that by adjusting the reds alone in curves or not.

This really should have scored higher - I think you actually did yourself in with the title. I love the "straight down the tracks" view with the light on the rails. I didn't recognize this as Aidan though I suspected it might be - hard to tell when you can't see his curls! And you gotta quit sticking your kid on active railroad tracks... ;-)

Bug Free Software

I thought this was one of the more creative oxymorons - and rather fitting. Technicals are pretty good, particularly the bug. Might even make a good stock picture with the same title, though you'd want to somehow disguise the software names. Probably should have scored just a bit higher, though I do think Alain fairly won the head to head on this one.
