Hans Van Doorby posthumousComment: Like the high contrast and the "what the heck are all those handprints doing there" aspect. Makes me think it's a well loved, well used family car where family matters more than the overblown American tendency to worship their vehicles. |

October in Michiganby JuliBocComment: I think you did a great job capturing what you saw - the focus (not the literal focus - emphasis may be a better term) is definitely on the leaves, their color, and the tree trunk texture. |

Picture 149ThePanzFrame.jpgby pawdrixComment: I like Goodman's comment. :-) I also like how the color tones all match - adds to a weird harmony created here. You find the most interesting things! |

Camouflageby noranekoComment: Composition works well for this shot - shows both the camoflauge capabilities of the dragonfly but provides enough contrast with the dark upper triangle to give him (or her) substance. Good light and color (which is nicely NOT overdone.) With these closeup bug shots, focus had to be dead on if there's no other story to tell other than the cool nature of bugs. |

The Usual Suspectsby tmhallingComment: I don't know why you're surprised with the score - I love this shot. As many have said, great use of negative space and high contrast, and the lines/curves are great, but what makes it so real and delightful is the bird sh!t. Very nicely seen and captured! |

The walkerby farmer48Comment: I'm sure many voters just zipped past this as a "snapshot" but I quite like it for the interaction you've captured between the horse and the trainer. May not have been intentional on your part or theirs, but it's what came through in the shot. Better picture than it scored. |

The Violinistby theSajComment: I'll offer a "you were robbed" on this one - I quite like this. Edit to add that one would expect motion in this - it's part of what makes the picture exciting. You did a great job with the lighting conditions. A very strong image in my opinion. Message edited by author 2006-11-08 21:14:10. |

Tim Burtonby jblaylockraynerComment: Heh - love your ingenuity, and I suspect he thought it quite amusing. Congrats on getting the shot in the first place, and I think it's perfect! |
