Where You Can Hear Yourself Think by dirtkahunaComment: I am really attracted to this image - the lighting is beautiful. Very ethereal and it the image very strongly connotes to me that fantasy world, fairy world, ghost world that is a figment of my imagination but that seems almost real when I'm on the edge of dreaming. 10 |

Sign Languageby RoosterComment: I love this and have viewed it several times since I did my initial voting (10) and now my voting fine tuning (10). Whilst the traditional technical measures of a "good" image (such as composition, background etc) aren't the best they could be, this image packs an incredible punch, regardless. It conveys silence and the reality of living in a silent world very very strongly. I also love the feeling of connection with your subjects. An exceptional image and my joint-favourite this challenge. |

Silenceby jmsetzlerComment: Nice use of foreground rocks to partially frame image. I like the luminescent quality of the white water. I do find the sky very bland and, although it would change the proportions of the image, I personally prefer less of that sky/ bare tree line included. 7 |

Silent Serenityby ArtifactsComment: Now this is a place in which to sit quietly and appreciate all the good things in one's life. Colours seem oversaturated. Composition isn't strong for me - if there were only one rock formation off to a side it would work, but with two of them my eye ends up kind of falling in the (boring) empty patch of sky between them. |

Piano Pieceby unexposedComment: If I were to see this image without context it would speak of music to me, not of silence. Still it's a nicely composed image, I like angled composition and the low DOF. |

Calmnessby smr78Comment: I like the idea - empty park benches in what is presumably a quiet park - but visually the three benches are like a sight line leading me in to a.... waste bin. |

Silencedby Dim7Comment: Nice subject with great contrast between the colours of the rust and faded paintwork and the white pristine snow. The line of the barbed wire adds interest too. |

Father and Sonby basia03Comment: Excellent representation of the theme.
Visually, suffers from lighting and colour balance - could do with more even lighting over walls, softer, to reduce shine on heads, and less orangey.
Also, because of low viewpoint you have a bit of a parallax thing going on which the lines of the frames really emphasise.
I do like the two pictures on the wall - they kind of echo the two men beneath.

Detonationby weavercComment: Fascinating image - looks like something from outer space with a giant fiery cloud clustered with stars... |

Exhaustedby e301Comment: Interesting silhouette and the black of that plus the deep blue sky really provide a perfect foil for the flame. Very nice. |
