...for nuts!by SimmsComment: The use of DOF here is outstanding, the muted tonalities of the image are flawless, the "pose" showing only half a face (feels like a sly nod to Librodo's veiled models) is outstanding. In no way does this image shout "shoehorning" to me; I think it's a very straightforward approach tot he topic. Granted, the squirrel may not actually have been searching for nuts, but he sure as heck LOOKS like he is, and that's the goal isn't it?
Good one!

Where He go?by ilphotoComment: This image is beautiful. I didn't quite feel it responded directly to the challenge topic, but obviously the voters collectively disagreed with me on that :-) Lovely image, great finish. |

Blind Date by Sam94720Comment: I really like this one. Beyond the amusing and graphic take on an unusual instance of "searching", the entire gestalt of the image is unusual. There's a sense of a perfectly flat plane that encompasses everything but the BG building (to a certain extent) and the figures of the searchers, who almost appear to be levitating above this plane, and yet perhaps about to sink into it.
A very intriguing image on several levels. Great job!

Yes, actually :-) I am surprised and pleased it made top 10, though; I did not think this image would be much appreciated. It's certainly the best finish, by far, of any of my OOB entries, and I have made quite a few :-)
Thanx, all, for the kind words.

That's what 10mm does to you from a low angle...

Study of a Philistine, unfinishedby MephistoComment: Wonderful shot, one of my top picks this challenge. Almost a third of the votes are 7 and higher, which is a lot for a 5.7 image; a lot of the voters felt this was exceptional. Fie on the nay-sayers! |

The lucid dream after raining by william88Comment: Beautifully processed, luminous & lyrical image. My only quibble is, I wish you'd toned down the lower left corner a full zone, made it darker. It distracts me with detail I don't feel contributes to the image.
Great shot! |
