illusionby whiteroomComment: Oh, what a ripoff! I didn't vote this challenge, but I'd call this one of the top 5 easily. The image SPEAKS, it is melancholy and illusive/elusive and altogether pleasing to the mind & eye, in my opinion at least. |

Hope keeps us moving on amidst chaos and needby HighNoonerComment: This is a wonderful shot, IMO. I completely disagree with the comments that there is "nothing to focus on". There's a very rich, seamless quality to this that would be lost if it were more specific, so to speak. My eyes keep devouring the image, exploring its details.
Going into favorites. |

Canadian Hot Tubby QuigleyComment: Ah, man, you got robbed :-) This deserves a much better finish. But then, I doubt you expected one, and the reward was in the making, so it's all cool (pun intended).

No Remorse by nutzitoComment: I actually believe the processing on the one you entered is MUCH better for the challenge than the alternate version you linked. It is grainier, grungier, more surreal in every way. MUCH better. So much better I wonder if the other version still would have ribboned.
Why not start a thread about it (say at the start I asked you to) and ask people THEIR opinions. Be really interesting to see what the consensus is...
Nice work! |

Cowboy Ambitionby stevieianComment: Love the processing here, beautiful image. You were right about it being a little off-topic. If it were just a *normal* cowboy challenge I bet it would have done better, but since this was a memorial thing tastes ran more to the overtly emotional, even clichéd, approach.
Excellent work regardless, I like it very much. |

Wetlandsby charliebakerComment: Really nice work, David. Unappreciated, as usual, but wonderful sense of place & space. |
