River Glass Ripplesby PrismComment: They're going to think this is "my" marsh, you know... I wish you'd had a little more at the top here, but a nice, serene image. |

Mt. Everest Mirrorby ztropfComment: Deceptively simple and exceptionally powerful. If this is Punam, I'm glad to see you've solved your color balance problems. Wonderful shot, a tad oversharpened thouhg; see the halo between ridgeline and sky on the left... |

Through my Father's mirrorby patrinusComment: Dude, you're gonna be in big trouble with the voters. I had to stare and stare at this one to convince myself it is NOT a mirror, but a frame, and that there are two separate figures here. I think most voters are gonna assume this is a mirror and vote you down for DNMC. Good luck with this; I lik eit a lot. |

A warm red with smoky undertones and an amber meniscus...by notesinstonesComment: "an amber meniscus"? rotflmao. nice shot in many ways though. I'm a little bothered by the extreme deviation between looking down on the base and up at the rim, it's disconterting. And I sih the hot spots on the flames were better controlled. Finally, technically speaking the image in the glass isn't a reflection, the wine/glass are acting as a lens and thus the image is inverted just as a camera lens inverts it. All that's neither here nor there though. Nice shot, 7 from me. |

Happy Winnerby Bear_MusicComment: Hell, people, I even entered "what?" instead of "reflections" just to spare y'all "yet another spectacular sky reflected in the marsh" shot... Sometimes I wonder if people have ever really LOOKED at my full range of challenge entries. It's just that my BEST pictures are almost always scenics, 'cuz that's what I do, ya know? Those are the ones that sell, too.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words. To those who question whether this depicts "pride", all I can say is that when I saw this shot (from the clambake, not shot for the challenge at all) I said to myself "Damn, she looks proud of herself!" so I entered it. And, for those who asked, she'd just won an impromptu race to the water and back the kids had organized up. |
