Cableby davwongComment: Beautiful, moody image, but I can't see it as "abstract" in any meaningful way. Even in the pure sense of the word "abstraction" (reducing a thing to its basic elements) this doesn't work for the challenge, at least for me. But what a gorgeous shot. The metallic tone of the gondolas is sublime. |

do not go gentlyby tnunComment: I gave you a 9, you got 9th... I wonder, should I try giving you a 1 next time and nail you the blue? Or will you gently remind me that correlation is not causation, Bear, and 9's will be fine thank you?
BTW, since I am an editor, let me point out in passing that Dylan Thomas said "Do not go gentle into that good night. Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, rage against the dying of the light." I can't remember the punctuation offhand but those are the first three lines of one of the better villanelles written in modern times :-) |

Primary Candyby DCrest01Comment: Green is not a primary color :-( You mix yellow with blue to get green... |

Defenders of the homelandby Yo_SpiffComment: I smell a Spiffer at work. This is nicely done. I guess a group portrait is still a portrait and sepia is still B/W but I'd imagined you're getting dinged on these fronts? |

First Light by Ja-9Comment: Since these are the Grand Teton mountains, I'm guessing Ja-9 for this one. Whoever it is, lucked out on the sky and the snow :-) Nice work. |

the cigarette smoking spotby TiberiusComment: I didn't like this much at first, but now I do, a lot. It just took a little time to appreciate the in-your-face banality of the scene. The billboard makes it. 8 from me. |

Door and mat by colorcarnivalComment: A dog, a cat, a door... BORRING... Right? Wrong! What an exceptional seeing of the mundane! 8 from me. |
