Winter Treatby lawreeComment: Not quite sure I consider this an "EXTREME close up". I do think the shot it ok though. Focus and clarity seem good, and lighting is alright as well. The background to the upper right of the cup seems to have something strange going on with it, and I wish the lines were lined up with the photo. ~Heather~ |

Falloliageby Ricky CleaveComment: I'm not really sure what technically makes up a 'macro', however, to ME, this is more like a close up. Macro would show very close up details of one subject. I know that's not a 'technical' deffinition, however, it is what I'm looking for in the challenge. The challenge description says "extreme close up"
ANYWAY, that being said, I do like the DOF. Focus is right on where my eyes want to see it. LIghting is good. Angle and framing/cropping are good. I like the diagonal division of the shot. There is a strange darker blue blurr in the upper left of the photo that draws my attention, But otherwise a nice photo. ~Heather~ |

Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder...by aznchic88Comment: Nice macro! There are 2 minor things that stand out to me in the shot though. First, the reflection doesn't really ADD to the photo, so I do find it a bit of a distraction. Maybe if it were a specific shape, or something recognisable, or something, it would be different. I'm not sure what it is about it that bugs me, but it does a bit. Also, I wish I could see the ends of the eye lashes. My brain tells me they are there, and the fact that I can't see them seems odd. That being said, I do still love the shot. Very nice work, focus and clarity are great and I love where you have placed the subject within the photo. Good luck in the challenge. ~Heather~ |

Ragin' Cajunby sherComment: Is that a lobster in his pants, or is he just happy to see me? hehe. Very nice focus and clarity. This shows some personality for sure. Love the lack of color. Background is good, nothing distracting there. Overall a very nice shot. 10 ~Heather~ |

Swimming Through Fall Colorsby alanfreedComment: Wow. Very nice. Simple. I love the colrs. Nice focus on the ducks and the ripples are very nice as well. Only thing that I notice is that the photo is almost divided between the yellow reflection, and the plain green on the right. Not a big deal, but almost wish the yellow were all the way across. Still a very lovely photo. ~Heather~ |

Boundby BobsterLobsterComment: Definatley very interesting. I like the lighting very much. I also like the softness of the photo. This is very tastefully done. I love the expression on her face. Love the focus on her face. Nice detail. I like how the photo is so light, and the restraints are darker, adds a bit of contrast to the photo. Very nice. ~Heather~ |

Sunbreakby PhilosComment: Very lovely! I love the colors and the light coming through the clouds really makes for a nice pic. Focus and clarity are excellent and lighting is what really makes this photo. Love the weeds in the forground as well. Guess I have nothing to complain about here. 10. ~Heather~ |

Partially Cloudyby drgsoellComment: Very nice. Love the blue/white. The addition of the mountains adds just enough contrast to make this a very visually appealing image. Focus and clarity are great, and lighting conditions were definatley on your side. Wish there were some way to not have the right side of the mountains in shadow, but unavoidable, I guess. maybe some lightening of that area? |
