The white spots all over kind of bug me a bit. I like the concept of the photo, and it's definately cute. 7 of the subject yup. focus seems a little soft on the men, but hard to tell since they are silhouetted. I haven't figured out if I like the light or not, at first I thought it was a bit distracting, and then second thought felt that it drew the viewers eyes to the hand and broken arm. Overall creative interpretation of the challenge.

You're missing a shade of purple. lol oh well. I like the shot. I do have 2 nit picks though. First, the lighting on the blue pencil is way brighter than on the rest of them, making it stand out as a distraction. Second, the spot where the purple color meets the wood on the purple pencil is rough, where the rest are smooth. Otherwise, a very nice shot. Good focus, great background, nothing distracting there. And mostly lighting is good as well. It's a fun shot too, which is nice. ~Heather~

Maybe I'm missing something, but this does't give the appearance of an extreme close up to me. It looks like a huge piece of machinery. And I'm not getting the title reference either. That being said, I think it's a nice photo. I like the color and the focus and clarity are good, lighting really makes the photo. Even though I don't know what this is, it still appeals to me in some odd way. ~Heather~

Fun shot. Great focus and clarity. The angle and framing/cropping are great too. I really like the shadow for some reason. Background is perfect, nothing distracting there. And DOF is right where I like to see it. I don't see anything that I'd like changed here. Could be more 'extreme' close up, but this is cute non the less. ~Heather~

this is the 3rd shot almost exactly the same that I have come across so far. This one though is 'upside down' which is a bit different than the other 2, but I can pretty much say the same thing for all 3 shots. Lighting is good, focus is good, I love the texture. My only preference would be if the 'V' of the veins were coming out of a corner or somewhere other than dead center. I can't believe how almost identical these shots are. ~Heather~

This is a nice shot. My only preference would be to see more of the shot in focus. While I appreciate DOF, I think this is slightly too narrow for my personal taste. I like the lighting though. Not quite sure why, cause it does seem dark, but it gives the photo a mood. I like that. ~Heather~

Focus and clarity are very nice! I like the small hints of color. Lighting is really great, and DOF is right where it should be. Solid color background is good, nothing distracting there, although there is a dark colored smear in the lower right hand corner. Not sure if that's from editing or something else, but it is not a huge deal. Because of the size of the object I would consider this an extreme close up. ~Heather~

I could say this is close up. Grainy and out of focus too, but close up. I like how you have arranged the crayons, and the colors are ok. Lighting seems harsh though, which could be a reason for the grain and out of focusness. I think had this been in focus it could have been a nice photo, but as is, it doesn't appeal to me at all. ~Heather~
