Blot on the Landscapeby paynekjComment: What catches my eye about this photo is the foggy, polution like haze over the background, and the tree in the front is still hanging on, not in a haze. Kind of says that there might be hope yet that we wont totally be smothered in polution some day. Focus and clarity are great. I like where you have placed your 'horizon' line within the photo. Angle and framing/cropping are nice. The tree is perfect over to the right edge. Good luck in the challenge. |

Morning Dipby jitamsComment: You have a very strong horizontal line and you put it right in the middle of the photo. I don't think that works well in this case. I understand why you did it though, to get the ducks and the trees in the photo. If you took this from a lower angle, closer to the ground, tilted up slightly, you may have been able to lower the 'horizon' line a bit. A couple more small things. If you wanted the 'horizon' level, it needs a slight left rotation. If not, it's totally not a big deal. Also, winter was an aweful time for this challenge, cause of lack of color. I wonder if a saturation level adjustment might help to add a bit of color without turning the ducks green. lol. I love how you caught the one duck just as he splashed into the water. It's a lovely view. Good luck in the challenge. |

Zenithby KarenBComment: Well, it's not the prettiest tree in the world, but it works. I like the one in the distance better, but the larger one creates some balance. Colors are beautiful. Great job capturing the snow. Snow is hard for me. Always turns out blue. Cute little moon, but it almost looks like something on the photo, lint or something. I know it's a moon though. Good luck in the challenge. |

Sydneys Greatest (Bridge)by RavenComment: I'm not too fond of the pink tint, but the shot looks very nicely done. Focus and clarity are great. The detail is amazing in the bridge. Looks like you did a great job leveling the photo. Placement of the bridge within the photo is nice, and lighting seems good. No hot spots or distracting shadows. That pole intruding from the bottom near the right corner is kind of out of place, but sometimes we take what we can get. Very nice view. Good luck in the challenge. |

Refreshing!!by BigSmilesComment: I like the diagonal of the rock in the bottom left. The water is very nice, and I bet the water is coooold.Focus and clarity are good. I think it's neat to see the cracks in the rock. Angle and framing/cropping are good. You placed the diagonal very nicely within the photo. My only nitpick is the water in the bottom right. It seems almost like it's starting to get washed out. maybe a little lighting issue in that area. Otherwise, lighting is nice. Good luck in the challenge. |

In the Mendip Hillsby KonadorComment: I really love how the tree stands out from the hill. Subtle, but still very obvious. The sun peeking out really adds the color that this shot needs. i like the pinkish/orange tint to the shot. The angle and framing/cropping is excelent. I like the way the hill in the front sets an angle. Focus and clarity are great. That tree is just awesome. Great shot. Good luck in the challenge. |

Dead Of Winterby jmsetzlerComment: Dual meaning. I like this a lot, and I think my only complaint is the white side of the building. It really doesn't fit with the photo. seems out of place. I realize you can't control something like that. But after the challenge, you could try dimming it with an editer or something. I really like the angle and framing/cropping you chose, and the border works very nicely as well. is this IR? I'm not real familiar with it, but from what I've seen, it has this kind of effect. Lovely location for a shot. Good luck in the challenge. |

First real snow since 1956by jjbeguinComment: The framing with the wall is very nice. I like that a lot. The view is kind of dulled by the snow actually. The sky is the problem, I think. Weather can really affect a photo. I think that the sky is too white and washed out for my personal preference. I like the little trees in the forground. Focus is nice. Angle and framing/cropping are excelent. Great location. Good luck in the challenge. |

Broken By The Windby RaindropComment: This is a pretty shot, but hard to look at. It all kind of blends in together. Not sure how that could be fixed at all, other than doing it in color, but the color in the shot probably wasn't very impressive this time of the year anyway. Focus and clarity seem very nice. was a wide angle lens used for this? I wonder because of the strange angle of the trees to the left. I think you made a good decision to go black and white, just wish there was more seperation. Good luck in the challenge. |
