Taste - tea or water?by leteneleComment: I like the balance (subject, light, tone) between foreground and background in this photo. The good quality of the bokeh makes the background objects recognizable. This gives a kind of calm to it all. Good colors. The icetea looks fresh and tasteful and the blue cast of the glass with the water and ice makes it look really cold.
I would like to see the base of the glasses though and a piece of the table cloth. It would give better perspective and depth. It would also make the napkin behind the glasses recognizable. Now it could be anything, like a jacket hanging on a chair. As soon as things like that are easy to identify it is less of a distraction and adds more to the composition.

Squaresby GabrielComment: Wow, great idea. Usually those steel grids are so boring, but the slight misalingment of the grids and the wonderful warm color makes this a great photo. I also like it how it goes from deep dark shadows in the top right corner to detailed & light in the lower left. |

A rusty rustic homeby JeanComment: Great how that green pops out from all that rusty battered steel. Nice composition. |

life:death/green:rustby AlexHugelComment: Interesting patterns and colors, it comes very close to rust. I also like the angles of the stem and substems. |

Old machinery, classic designby sfaliceComment: I like the composition and use of repetitive elements, good colors, good depth. The photo expresses the power of the machine. I think that the shadows work well here. Some of those bolts really pop out of the background that way. |

Through and Throughby LENWOODBLUZComment: Great colors and pattern. It looks like something smashed into the screen and left a splattering pattern. Very interesting. |

Over The Riverby sherComment: Hi Sher,
I thought it was your pic (Natchez, no doubt) but had not given much thought to the title. Aren't most of your photos that feature this bridge taken from the other side? That's another "over the bridge". :)
Isn't there a hotel on a hill to the right? Stayed there for a night a couple of years ago.
I like this composition, but the toning/light is a bit dull.
"Storms over the Mississippi" was great btw.
Sorry for not showing up at fanatics lately. ;) |
