The granite looks like snow with some texture, the way you'd like snow to contrast in your photo but it never does. Strong composition (I like the diagonal) and contrast, good.

It's a bit too tight for me, but on the other hand it still seems to work. I like the soft grey tones of the tree and boat and how they contrast against the somewhat darker toned background. Especially the way the tree fills the shot is very good.

The strong subject in the front (locomotive) is the main element that helps to tell everything about the scene you see behind it. Combined with the interesting contrast/ great lighting and wonderful B&W it makes a great pic.

One of the two of my top picks for this challenge. Not only does it have an interesting contrast between light and dark but also (and perhaps more dominant) the natural wooden arch in front vs the landscape behind it.

On my screen it is slightly oversharpened (halos around the hard edges like the barb wire) and there is a strange circular gradation in the sky.

But apart from that;
Interesting photo to look at, composition is good, sky is interesting, especially that strange blur that makes the clouds so fluffy. I like the dark tone of your sky vs the brightness of the stuff in front. The subject does not really make a strong impact on me.
