Salt Lick Creekby rioloboComment: This has a nice feel to it. Where were you during the 'Reflections without Mirrors' challenge? ;^)
Including the rocks in the right foreground was a good idea - adds balance and perspective to this shot. Very nice.
Smile and keep having fun! ;^) |

White on Whiteby samanwarComment: Personally, I like it. Great sense of motion yet the gulls head and feet are well focused. I'd certainly be proud of it and wouldn't have hesitated one second to enter it. Job well done!
Not sure how the voters would have reacted overall because technically you're overexposed. |

100_7683Whit-3.jpgby RiponladyComment: Great opportunity for some nice shots here. Nice moody feel with the lighting and mist. I really like how you picked up the golden reflection in the sand. Very nice. |

100_7672whit4.jpgby RiponladyComment: I like this simple, yet very pleasing, image. Very good use of leading lines. It's nice how the pier/dock has a curve to it - really makes this work well. Good choice on angle of view and getting some distance from the fisherman. Well thought out. Congrats on a nice capture!
Smile and keep having fun! ;^) |

Cast Awayby L1Comment: I like your choice of positioning the subject in your composition. DOF works well for me also. Good leading line with the road taking the viewer out/thru the image.
Overall, very nice. 8. Good luck in the challenge! ;^) |

Gardensby aussieComment: Looks like someone is practicing for the Triptych challenge. ;^)
All kidding aside - this is a very nice piece you've put together. Warm colors, well exposed. The reflections on the water bring additional interest...
One thing, if I may, is the 2nd and 3rd images are very similar and takes just a bit away from the overall impact. If you must use those two, perhaps split them? Just a thought. Again, very nice!

native influenceby clictacameraComment: Wow! I've gotten a bit behind on my commenting lately. This is an outstanding job you guys did with this entry! 5th place - GREAT! Very sharp, well composed, nice exposure, and outstanding clarity/focus.
Keep up the good work. Take care. |

Venetian Reflectionsby gerdagriceComment: Very nice image. Yes, I imagine the available reflection shots available would be enough to overwhelm the first time visitor (photographer anyway). I didn't know that boats, such as you mention in your notes, are used there. The one in the foreground has a darn good sized outboard on it!
Anyway...like the shot. Thanks for sharing the details. ;^) |

No Title.jpgby sensefieldComment: This is an interesting sunset image with the angle really setting it off. The rocks in the foreground are nice, as is the overall color. Jury is still out as to whether I like the grain/noise or not. Nonetheless...nice capture! ;^) |

cali0101_RJ.jpgby kimberComment: Very nice. Good color (the red on the pier really jumps out). I like the way the reflection plays on the beach. Only downside is the horizon isn't level. Looks like you need a CCW rotation of 1-2 degrees to straighten it out.
Take care. |
