Diehard Fanby jfwolpertComment: It's Belushi! :D Wild looking outfit this guy is wearing. Fun to look at. Seems more candid than portrait IMO. The lighting looked to be quite challenging to work with in this photo. The highlights are blown out in the harsh sunlight. Surprised to see what looks like motion blur on his arm/sleeve area (or is it slightly OOF with a very shallow DOF?). Very cool bokeh working in the background. :) Good luck in the challenge. |

Tattered and Tornby elizadebComment: Ah-HA! It was a roadside stand. Just had to toss that in there. :D Looks like those that commented really enjoyed it. Sorry you didn't finish a little higher with this.
Smile and keep having fun! |

All the things I've seenby GiorgioComment: I'll bet she could tell some stories. Wonderful capture of expression. The details are very nice. B/W also was a good choice here. Well done. Good luck in the challenge. |

Some Day My Prince Will Comeby j8xmanComment: It's an "ok" photograph. The composition is fine as far as her positioning, but the POV for the photographer (looking down) is taking away from the impact. Probably this choice was made because of distracting bg objects, but still, it would nice to see more of her face and especially her eyes. Considering this challenge is running under advanced rules you could have cloned out that chair leg in the top right, and removed the distracting black blob in the lower left. All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Chloeby Kris287Comment: A fairly nice photo of this young lady overall. I think the background is distracting. Good luck in the challenge. |

Fragileby RedOakComment: Wonderful expression. Good details and focus from what I can see. I really wish this was brighter as it seems to be substantially underexposed. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Spring Daysby renefunkComment: Very nice tones, color and contrast. I'm glad you picked a slight rise in the sand (or outward extension, hard to tell) as it breaks up what would have been a static shoreling in parallel with the horizon. As a portrait it probably could stand to be a little tighter on the young lady, but still a nice shot nonetheless. Good luck in the challenge. |

Gilly's Couchby sibelingComment: Of all the pet portraits in this challenge I like this one the best. The color of the sofa works great to isolate the dog. The lighting is perfect for this shot as well. Doesn't seem put off too much by the camera. :D Good luck in the challenge.
edit to update. Well you got bumped by a cat portrait. (don't tell Gilly!). Still my favorite dog portrait of all the pet ones. :D |

Soft and Sereneby robinssongComment: Well it is a pet portrait, but one well done at that. Wonderful focus - I can almost feel the fur it's so detailed. If I could make one change it would be to have the cat looking just a little more toward you, but it's still fine as is. Everything else, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |
