Rufous Hummingbirdby SammieComment: I love this shot. I like the diagonal line created by the branch and the way it leads the viewer to the well placed subject. Color is good. It seems like the bird is on the edge of sharpness for the aperture you've selected here. Look at the branch - it's sharp in front of the birds feet, yet a little fuzzy to the right of the birds head. Not terrible mind you, just seems like the birds head could be a little sharper. Of course, it could be my glasses need cleaning or something. ;^) Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Whistling Rocksby AranchaComment: Great contrast and detail. The color may have been pushed a bit too far on saturation IMO. This would have been a good shot for the subjectless challenge. ;^) One last point is that compositionally, the horizon is too much on center I think. All of the above is JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

I'm too sexy for my feathersby MickComment: Yes, this has great color - but there isn't anything dramatic or artistic about this image. Feels like a documentary, something you would see in a book showing various bird species. Nothing wrong with that overall I guess. The image is sharp and you've selected a good aperture to blur out the background while keeping the bird in focus. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Sunset on the Bayby magrovesComment: For a sunset to do well here it needs to be really spectacular. While this is nice, it's not out of the ordinary. Couple other things holding this back are the horizon (not straight) and a centered theme. I'd bet that 3 minutes prior to this shot the water was reflecting a lot more orange, which could have given this more impact. All of the above is JMO of course. ;^) |

Twilight Joyby rameviComment: The kid really brings this together. While this image could have stood on it's own with the beautiful scenery, having an active subject is the icing on the cake. Well done! |

Waitingby phylsy7Comment: I'm looking around for a person. ;^) Too bad you couldn't have had a kid in one of the fringe seats where you could just see most of his/her head. Very cool color in this shot, kind of glows. Crop is non-traditional, even for a panoramic look (you're 650 on the long side, the short should be 325). Good luck in the challenge. |

Ground Up Sharkby HubernComment: Nice hand there on the right. ;^) I'm sure this was an awe inspiring view from where you stood, but it's not coming out right in the image. Need some contrast to clear up the cloudiness (and maybe a cloning tool for that hand). ;^) The green reflections at the waters surface are very cool. Good luck in the challenge. |

Contemplationby JasComment: The horizontal slant is disconcerting. The colors are quite vivid, actually may be a bit oversaturated. This image could be stronger also with a shift in composition by cropping about 25% off the left side and some off the bottom as well to get the subject off-center. |

Access Deniedby SunshyneComment: Denied for some time too it looks like. ;^) Rusty chain, weeds grown up, etc... Did you use a spot filter or is your blur a post-processing addition? Not that it matters, just curious. Overall I like the feel of this image - it's interesting for a fence/gate. Only minor negative is the top rail and right post might be a little blownout. Good luck in the challenge. |
