heart doggieby Blackstarlight0Comment: Yep, some red in here alright. :D While your heart is in the right place, I think this is going to suffer in scoring because of the subject matter (stuffed toy). On the technical side, the lighting is a little harsh. Try and use some diffused (bounced lighting) rather than depending totally on flash. Good luck. |

Going for Red Numbersby things_to_doComment: This has a nice feel to it in general. The position of the golfer in your composition works well as does capturing his swing and the ball in flight. For me, I kind of expect to see a nice sculptured golf course background area, instead it's scruffy and a non-player in the overall image. Hope I'm explaining that correctly...golfer good, golf course background blah. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Brick Redby chimeraComment: It's certainly red, but a little, ummm, non-interesting? Sorry. I can see you made a fine effort at cropping and/or composing this to get the mortar seams all lined up. That's cool. Good luck in the challenge. |

Frosty Morningby aberrationComment: Very nice. Natures natural "desat"! :D Bet you were pretty happy to see this environment develop. Can't say I'd change a thing. Well done. Good luck in the challenge. |

Paint it Redby Perfect-CalamityComment: I like this mostly. Feels a little like an attempt at high-key that didn't quite go over the top enough, so it seems overexposed now. Love the color pop and having red in 3 places (strategically positioned) works well for the challenge. Good luck. |

"Hello There"by The EskimoComment: Great clarity and focus on this. The white balance is pretty good, although the white has a slight cool (bluish) cast to it. I'm wondering if you used flash on this - at first glance it would appear to be yes (glint in eye, slight glare on lower beak), but the shutter speed is throwing me off. Would have thought the shutter speed to be higher than 1/60 - reduced for fill flash in low light situation perhaps? :-)
Compositionally I would have trimmed a bit off the left to try and bring the eye more to a ROT point. Just a thought.
I do have to say I'm a tad jealous of the location! Hawaii, eh? Nice. Been there twice, last time in the last 80's.
I'm also a tad embarrassed to just now notice you've been tossing some challenge entries into the mix recently - I should know what my 'Fav' photographers are up to! :P
Hope all is well with you. Take care. |

City Windowby agrimaceComment: Hmmm...there's so many places this photo could originate from. Could be a good excuse to wander around downtown for a bit. :D Probably tucked away in somebodies backyard, eh?
Great color in this, and I really like the reflection. Well seen and captured.
Take care. |

The Snobby Grouperby jenesisComment: That youngster wouldn't be pounding on the glass now would (he/she - sorry hard to tell)? :D The motion blur of the hand actually adds interest to this story. Would it be nice if "Snobby" wasn't blurry? Yes, but it's not a major ding on your score. Overall, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |
