surrender.jpgby electrolostComment: A bit dark (in theme) for my taste, but the image is well done with some nice dramatic lighting. It's good to have friends (or family) to use as models, eh? :) |

Lamp postby cogeroxComment: Great tones and texture here. I like how the cactus on the left appear to be shying away from the lamp post. :D |

Taming the wild cactusby cogeroxComment: This is a fun photo. It's almost like two photos in one. The shadows obviously garner the majority of interest, but then my eyes want to wander to the top corners and the sidewalk area. Almost like the "cactus" is leading me to go in that direction - then there's no place to stop and I wander right on out following the path.
Good or bad? I imagine that's subjective depending on the viewer. Not sure what I'd do to "stop" the viewer personally. Some vignetting of the corners maybe? A heavier border? Hmmm. Anyway, overall I find it interesting. :) |

Day-Four.jpgby RoosterComment: Strong image. Bold contrast and B/W range. Very nice!
What filter did you apply to darken the sky that much at the top? |

King of the forestby hajekaComment: Gosh, I don't like these Expert Editing challenge rules sometimes. I really, really hope this is a photo taken with great timing to be in the right place at the right time, and not some pasted in moose to make the scene. :/
If this is for real it must have been VERY exciting to see this photo come together! Nice use of ROT's in positioning of the main subject. A tad more contrast on the trees might give this a different (richer) feel and look to it, but as is, I still like it considerably. :)
Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

tight gripby tateComment: The crossing sign in the upper-left is like an exclamation point on this photo. :) Interesting storyline developing here. Leaves the viewer wondering what happens next?
Wonderfully done B/W image with great use of existing elements (curve, lines, shadows, etc...) to put together a captivating composition. |

Day 2by PuckzzzComment: This is a fun abstract. I could see this hanging on a wall somewhere. :) The clear black area in the center tells me that the surrounding area really has that grainy look...not something done in PP.
Great eye to see this and then capture it in an interesting way! :) |

day4by PuckzzzComment: I'm glad you mention the pink hair in your notes...that was the first thing that jumped out at me. :P
I like the composition. Honestly, I'm having a difficult time finding a place to settle in with the photo overall. The ornaments on her lip are a natural place for the attention to shift, but it's quite soft and doesn't hold me for long.
Perhaps I'm missing something, or this monitor at work is not appropriately setup to give this image due justice?
There is certainly a soft, dreamy look to this photograph. If that was your intention it works fine in that context. |

4-The Magical Fruitby BudComment: The detail in the center of that bag make the beans seem 3D almost. This was a good choice for B/W. Nice job of making a potentially mundane subject look appealing. :) |

Day 4 - Hibiscusby BudyaComment: Great choice for B/W treatment. Very nice details and texture. I also like the angle you selected to bring the inner stem across at a diagonal. Well done! :) |
