Bubblelockby GachukComment: Bubblelock? :) Cute, but seems like the bubbles are taking a back seat in subject matter. Otherwise the photo is well composed and I like the focus bringing out the texture in the wood. All JMO of course. :) Good luck in the challenge. |

Where did the land go?by JudiComment: Judi - I think you used Photoshop quite well on this. It's a wonderful piece of art. However, that being said, I also think this seems too much like a digital graphic that goes over the edge of maintaining photographic integrity.
You had a wide range of votes on this and I think the DPC community is still trying to decide whether 'Expert Editing' is a good fit for what's been more or less fairly traditional photography for the past several years.
I pulled the following quote from the Expert Editing (Trial) Challenge Rules.
"You are encouraged to keep your entries photographic in nature, and voters are encouraged to rate entries accordingly."
Obviously this is JMO, and I'm one of those old-fashioned conservative types. :P |

frog 1by Salo8899Comment: I'm not sure what you're going after here with this photo. You mention in your posted comments that you changed some colors. Why? For fun, or did you have a specific result in mind?
As is, the photo looks like a mistake. Nothing personal. What I mean by mistake is it's overexposed and at first glance appears to be oversaturated. Compositionally, your subject is smack dab in the middle of the photo. Usually that is somewhat of a no-no.
If you are going for some type of artisitic look then push the image even farther. Be more extreme and be obvious with your intent.
All JMO of course. Good luck and have fun! :) Message edited by author 2007-04-23 17:17:02. |
