Good use of the lighthouse to partially block the sun. Some optical illusions going on here. The horizon seems slightly tilted to the left, and the lighthouse appears to have a slight right lean. I'm pretty sure it all has to do with the various angles in the photo...

Nice timing for this image to capture the strong reds. Good luck in the challenge.

I like the simplicity of the single blossom. I was out taking some images the other day very similar. :-) The curve of the branch adds a nice gentle restrainer to keep the viewer engaged with the photo. Focus is a tad soft, which overall is fine, but I think this would be stronger if the details of the blossom were more defined.

Technically, the pink is a "warm" color. Somehow, the image feels cold and the pink isn't strong (or large) enough to raise the temperature IMO. The large bg area of white/grey is influencing the overall impact I think.

All JMO of course. :-) Good luck in the challenge.

I love the dramatic sky and the "God rays". Tough one to shoot and in this case the blown highlights take away from this a little. BTW - You should always use the maximum size allowed whenever possible (640px on the long side for a 'Basic' challenge).
