In the FWIW column...I liked it (gave it a 7). Thought it was a refreshing take on the challenge (away from all of the single drop splashes, etc...). You certainly covered the bell curve with scoring on this one! :-D

74th?! I think this is a lovely image. The colors and composition (as usual) is wonderfully done. Only nit that probably dinged it a bit was the top bridge suggesting a slight tilt.

In the FWIW column...this was one of my top picks (gave it a 9). I really enjoyed this for the creative take on the challenge theme and the calming abstract quality of it. After seeing your notes, I wonder - why the ISO 1600 selection? Was that to get the higher shutter speed of 1/1000, or an auto setting based on what your camera liked? I ask only because the image did end up a little grainy which may have hurt the overall score somewhat.

Anyway...Thanks for the refreshing POV. Overall, nicely done. :-)

Interesting take on the challenge. Fun colors with the boat to offset the greyish bg sky. Don't really care for the halos around the bridge...HDR?

Based on the final votes (no 10's) I'd say there was a grain of sarcasm in here. :-/

I did find it interesting how the bluish tarp on the hood helped to contribute to a cooler feel in this photo.

I'll concur with several others that not seeing the dogs face, especially the eyes, held this back. It was the first thing I noticed. This could have scored probably 6+ if a more emotional connection between the viewer and the dog was made (via seeing the eyes). JMO of course. :-)
