Sometimes it takes a little help... by JakerComment: Hi Jake. Did I guess right? :-D
A wonderful image and I think B/W works great with this. I'd wish you good luck in the challenge, but somehow I don't think you'll need it. :-) My top pick for sure. |

Winterfest.jpgby HipychikComment: Just poking around in your portfolio a bit and ran across this. Certainly brings back memories of my Michigan childhood and snowmobiling every winter. My parents belonged to a snowmobile club ('The Blizzard Brigade' - funny I can remember that!) and I learned to ride quite well. Artic Cats for us!!! :-) |

Back Yard Visitorby KarenNfldComment: October 2006? :-) I picked this immediately out of your 'Selected Portfolio Photographs' lineup!
I can see now that I gave this a pretty high mark back when it was posted as a challenge entry, and understandably so. :-) The background really makes this stand out, and the sharply focused bird doesn't hurt at all either. He-he.
Nice lineup choice (and you have tons to choose from!). |

Dry Dockby SoulMan1978Comment: This is a nice scene. The two boats work well together in this composition. I like the layout overall, what may have held this back some is the lighting. I'd love to see this retaken (if possible) at dawn or dusk to catch some flattering light on this fine subject. |

weedsby briantammyComment: Picking a couple from the "favs" listed on your profile page. Hope you don't mind?
One thing that is standing out is your approach to high contrast and extreme lighting situations; you're not afraid to use this type of lighting to good effect in your compositions. Very nice!
I've also just noticed that you use Minolta glass with your Olympus. That's interesting. I'd like to know what you use to convert this fine old glass over to your new DSLR. |

window painby briantammyComment: Some day I'm going to imitate this! :-) I've actually tried a similar shot a few times (hadn't seen this photo before) as we have two cats that love to tease the dogs at the french patio doors & various windows.
This is a really fun photo. It's kind of like grunge, but natural. Great control of lighting and very nice detail. |

Milo being Milo!by SaraRComment: The one on the right looks like he/she's had enough, and can't believe Milo is coming back for more. :-) He-he. |

The Chaseby surfdabblerComment: So? Are you going to sell your DSLR? :-) Personally, I like what you did in PP, and it appears by your score and comments that others did as well. Congrats on the 7+ and high placing! |
