Bisphenol A. Ducky, descendant of Rubber Duckyby pravinaComment: Ducky challenge - border...you probably should wait until after the challenge to discuss something so specific. It's quite easy to determine which image is yours, which blows the whole anonymity principle of challenge entries.
FWIW - I actually like the way this came out with the wide border and thought it was intentional. There are times when I'd like to do this to get some seperation from the generic grey bg of the voting page...usually I'm too chicken to go farther than thinking about it. People get so hung up on borders here that anything outside the norm will usually kill your score.
Good luck! :-) 10 from me!!! (I had voted prior to this comment) |

Fallen Heroby bobnospumComment: My guess is that it just didn't connect with the voters pertaining to the challenge theme. Personally I think it's a nice photo, although it is a bit documentary and static (i.e. - no "Wow" factor).
I like the inclusion of some foreground leaves and the positioning of the statue in the comp. The exposure of the statue is on the mark, and I like that the processing didn't make it harsh...instead it has a ethereal glow to it. |

Exit Stage rightby scalvertComment: It's neat how the head and one foot are still, yet there's movement in the body. The clear eyes and reflections make this shot. |

Junqueby Yo_SpiffComment: Interesting old truck, but I'm finding the sky to be too blue and unrealistic. Clouds should be white. Hmmm...looking at this a little closer it looks like the sky was substantially processed. An easier trick is to use a polarizer on your lens - that would make the truck a richer color, eliminate the window reflections (and other various items like the truck seat, etc...) - PLUS it can darken a sky and isolate clouds quite nicely. Just a thought. Good luck! |

Gluttony for Punishmentby EstimatedEyesComment: How much time did you spend on "prepping" this fridge before your shot?! Quite tidy. :-) I thought this was a pretty good take on the challenge theme. |
