11-october 08 macro. a small bugby rozComment: Oooh...OOOHH! Sweet! (I just said that for a bug shot?!) :-)
This is a wonderful shot! Color, detail, DOF, comp...everything. One of my favorites for this side challenge thus far.
Very, very, nice! |

Oct 21.jpgby Mr_PantsComment: This is a fun shot. The plant is interesting to look at with the colors and shapes. Good use of DOF on this. Might trim a smidge off the top of the photo. Technically you're positioned fine for ROT's, negative space, etc...but it just feels a little unbalanced. |

Waiting for Dinnerby bjoernComment: It is a bit busy in the background and bright enough that it takes away from the main subject. As an entry in the 'Upside Down' challenge I felt it met the challenge just fine. I gave it a 5...kind of it's "ok", not bad or anything, just not a "wow" moment either.
As a Macro shot for the side challenge, I'd like it to be tighter and more personal with the subject. That spider looks to have a lot of detail that would really stand out if it could be seen better.
All JMO of course. :-) |

Macro 06 by KenComment: The colors on this are fantastic! The yellow, blue, and black, work together quite nicely. What is the blue anyway...water? You're right about the upper petal, it would be stronger either in focus, or totally blurred. The hint of sharpness on the edge makes it feel like an "oops" (nothing personal, just an observation). Very good control on the exposure for the lighting you had to work with.
Border...hmmm, I might try a wide white border that would let the colors jump out even more. |

13-october 08 macro. paper waspby rozComment: An 'Upside Down' outtake. :-) Something about the "expression" of a wasp that just makes you want to keep your distance. Very nice detail on this. There's a future for this shot in stock sales somewhere I'd think. Well done! |

Fuseby hajekaComment: He-he. It's funny how the simple things can work at times. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was the phrase "Light the fuse".
Great detail...you can see the texture of the paper reflected in the bottom metal of the fuse and the matchstick reflected in the top piece of the fuse. |

On the Edgeby Art RoflmaoComment: Dang! Had to dig to find your macro shots, with all of that "old" stuff taking up your most recent portfolio uploads. :-)
BTW - This is a very cool shot! Recognizable, yet abstract. The competing lines/shapes really work together well to create something dynamic. Honest!
Ummm...how many of those do you have scattered around your office, anyway? :-) |

MT125-2.jpgby Art RoflmaoComment: A Honda?! Don't you know Kawasaki's are faster? :-)
Now I wonder if I have any old pics of my dirt bike(s). Hmmm. |

long exposure shot.jpgby mbrutus2009Comment: I really like the color reflected in the water. At first glance, the way the building is positioned, the area of water could have been a wet road. You did a nice job on handling the exposure and not blowing out the building lights. I imagine you wanted to show as much of the reflections as possible, the only problem with that (from my humble POV) is that the image is pretty much split into two even parts. Kind of like centering the horizon on a scenic ocean shot, etc... Was a lower viewpoint available? It would be interesting to see this from a frogs perspective (well, maybe not THAT low).
Smile and keep having fun! :-) |

Eye Eye!by bobonacusComment: He-he. Noticed this had 200+ views...I just had to see what's up. :-)
Kudos for the details! Makes me want to look deeper into my wife's eyes as well! She'll love that. :-P |
