Houses of the Holyby MichaelCComment: Hi. I didn't comment on this during the challenge, but I feel the content of the image is inappropriate in that it shows the childs genitals. Yes, I know there's the whole innocence of children thing and all, but in this day and age I don't feel this belongs on DPC. |

Swamp Land by WildpurpleComment: I like this. Although I think I would have gone total abstract and cropped it just before the shoreline and only shown the reflection. |

Social Distancing is easy when the world around you is bleak and unforgivingby RyanWComment: Hi Ryan. Your title puts the viewer in an immediate state of mind of mournfulness and despair. The image reflects the title in that it does look cold, quiet, and somewhat lonely. I have to wonder a bit about the timing of the photo; sometimes with a cloud layer like that the sun will grace the viewer with a wonderful underside illumination. I'm assuming that moment either never appeared or was missed. I hope things look up for you soon and that the flowers spring forth and break thru that layer of snow.
How did I know this was yours? In the forum thread discussing the challenge you mentioned being the 4th entry in the challenge. Each photo has an image id ... this one is 1246986, which if I counted correctly, makes it the 4th entry. :-) |

bona fideby PennyStreetComment: bona fide indeed! I had this as one of my top picks as I felt it met the challenge head on with a wonderful silhouette. Great contrast! Wonder how this would have done if the top of the image had been removed, down to just above the walk signal? Anyway ... nicely seen and captured. |

Modern Day Native Americanby BeaubeauComment: Originally posted by Beaubeau: Originally posted by Neat: Great photo, I̢۪m wondering if the background is legal? Anyway time will tell. | Thank you. The Background is just a texture but who knows- it was fun to do and i like the shot. The feathers actually looked like that - it's not the texture. I checked back on the original photo. Thanks for your comments. |
Interesting. If the background is a "texture" then wouldn't it be applied to the entire image? I'm still unclear on how the whole texture stuff (rules) apply. |

Skipby jomariComment: I find the thumbnail of this image to be quite interesting. It's so abstract at that size and really made wonder when I first saw it. When viewed up close the shadows lose their elusiveness / abstract addition to the photo. While not dismissing the image on a grand scale, I still find it "ok" in full view - just not an "ah-ha!" moment. |

gifts from the seaby TiberiusComment: A nice take on the challenge in a environmental journalist way. Sad state of affairs isn't it that all this trash is out there (and this is but a molecule in the vast bucket of crud polluting global waters). |
