Not sure that super shallow DOF was what this challenge was going for? Especially without something in the bg to look at, be drawn into. Couple of things from a photography viewpoint, IMO ... the bird is very tight to the upper right corner and could use some breathing room and then the tail feathers are not fully captured. Last thing is the sensor dust spots. Those can be legally fixed in post simply with a healing brush.

Snow is a tough subject matter to grab an interesting image of. The dog in this case steals the show (grabs the viewer first).

The title suggests that the wood structure up front may be larger. Makes me think that maybe those rocks are larger too, but then I think not. Great color and a nice balance with a pleasing background.

Nice idea using the reflection on the instrument for your foreground item. Also that the entire circle of it and the placement work well too. The background is pleasing enough to take in.
