I like the framing. My problem is with the narrow range between the darkest value in the image and the lightest. Maybe lighting from a different angle would cast more interesting shadows.

The lighting is the problem here, as I see it. The green body of the toy would be picked out from the dark background by being lit more directly.

Nice try at the "dark subject on snow" shot. Sort of like a 7-10 split in bowling. I usually try to pick one or the other and let the other fall where it may. There seems to be a loss of detail on both here.
