The Dynamic Duoby noranekoComment: Great shot! :)
The background is a pleasing color and the DOF is perfect. It'd be fun to track them in their stages of life till they emerge as a full fledged butterfly. The process of when they turn into a chrysallis is amazing to watch and it can happen in just 15min. They do give you a warning , they start to attach themselves to a place they find sturdy. May hang there a few hours to a day before it starts to happen. I think it depends on the enivornment and how long they are left completely undisturbed.
The one on the right looks a lot like a Swallowtail caterpillar. Found one last year during the early fall season, the story's here //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=416843Message edited by author 2007-09-08 14:48:21. |

Evening in Makaraby JAGQComment: Congrats on placing so well in a sea of great shots. Excellent shot here. The composition is something to rave about. Wondeful how the lines and patterns of the waves disappear into the horizon. |

US Mailby StrikeslipComment: A charming shot ole m8. One of my favorites from the challenge. Bear said it nicely. For my taste, The HDR high dynamic treatment here is perfectly done. Message edited by author 2007-09-08 11:52:49. |

the lone cypress... by xtianComment: Ah the wonderful west coast! Excellent shot and treatment. Didn't go overboard with the hdr look and/or photo adjustments. The bottom right greens looks a tad overaly bright than the rest of the greens and that does make it one of the focal points. The moon must've forced you to shoot wide, as it's a wonderful scene. Only nitpick , perhaps cloning out the branches sticking out around mid frame, near the right edge there?
A very easy and impulsive 9 from me :)
p.s. I only know of 4 DPC members which shoot around the area and would like to be surprised ;) |

Cowboys Show Their Skillsby aidanaComment: Cool shot! You needn't have added the thin grey line to the frame there. It's a tight crop there at the top. So the rope didnt touch the frame, just black would've given off the right illusion of some extra space since the top part is already darkened. |

Buzzzby Faye PekasComment: A very nice macro with excellent composition. Looks like the sharpening technique added some noise to the shot? selective sharpening is the key to getting some shots looking great. Not applying the same amount of sharpening to the whole shot. |
