The Long Road Homeby Buckeye_FanComment: I can't believe this shot has so few comments. It's a lovely shot and I would have voted it about a 7 or 8. I love the linear elements and the nice, crisp colors. The detail in the road is very interesting. Great job. |

Surface Tensionby KonadorComment: This is an interesting approach, but I think it would be a bit more interesting if one of the ice blocks on the right or left was in tack-sharp focus and the rest were as they are now. But that wouldn't really be breaking new ground, so this is a nice approach for the challenge. Awesome shot, I love the gradations of the blue-to-black. |

Hot Doggin'by SprayHawkComment: To me, this photo is severly lacking in contrast and the water looks almost gray. I would suggest adjusting the levels to boost the contrast and also cropping a bit so the subject isn't so centered. Good action shot though. I like the stop-motion of the water particles. |

Roman Arenaby elee3009Comment: I really like this photo and would have to disagree with pekesty's comment. It works well as a contrasty black and white shot and the repitition of curved lines works wonders for the photo and keeps me interested for a long time. My only gripe is the dominance of the dark lower-right corner - it takes up almost a third of the entire composition and distracts a bit from the rest of the photo. Other than that an excellent photo. Would you mind posting the original so I can see what you had to work from? Maybe I can offer a few tips and possible ways of dealing with the lower-right corner. Nice job here. Message edited by author 2005-11-05 15:55:21. |

Actually, flash was not used - only natural sunlight coming in from a window - and had this been an advanced editing challenge I would have taken care of that highlight. Trivial matters aside, thank you for taking the time to critique, I appreciate it very much. |

Last Lightby dsidwellComment: Beautiful, a very minimalist sunset photo yet it has impact. I love the gradations in the sky, very beautiful. I really like the rays as well. Message edited by author 2005-11-04 00:59:57. |

Three Pairby bobdaveantComment: Awesome still life - I love the soft, warm, glowing light, but I don't see how the photo benefits from a noisy background. If the background were left alone and more noise was added to the pears, I think I would like it a bit more (assuming the noise was added in post-processing). Nice use of complimentary red and green. Good shot overall. Good luck. |
