...Like Peas in a Podby md8speedComment: Simple and effective, good color and light. I feel that a "third" would have made a more dynamic composition, but nevertheless, this shot really stands out. |

And the plot thickens... by kosmikkreeperComment: Too cute! Fabulous light, color, and composition if this was taken as one shot. The capture of the cat and the fish is just perfect. One of my top picks. I hope this wins and pisses off all the cat haters! (But I do hope this isn't a composite of two separate photos-I would be disappointed in that). |

Bird and Seedsby JackoComment: What a lovely winter shot. The composition is perfect for your subject, as is the lighting. This makes me want to set up my tripod and hang out some bird food on my deck! On my monitor, there is some kind of a "shadow" to the right of the bird. Almost like there is another bird there, but you can't really see it-it extends from an area behind the bird's head, all the way down to his tail feathers. Similarly, there is a "bar" of shadow across the entire bottom of the photo. These are both faint, but noticeable. |

"Winter Solstice" (Complimentary Colors)by RiderGalComment: Pretty good lighting, strong color, and I like the dof. I dislike the red/orange in the border-it seems to compete with the flowers. I find the black in the background a little distracting. The color gives it a modicum of immediate visual impact. |

Time and Moneyby brewinjComment: I find the concept of "time and money" to be an fuzzy concept at best, and don't think of it in terms of things that "go together". However, that being my personal view, I am not voting down for that. The photo has a good tonal range, and seems well focused. On my monitor the color is somewhat red-violet, and I don't care for that. The composition is fairly uninteresting in that it does not get my attention, and there seems to be nothing to "focus" on - everything is "equal". Perhaps a more dynamic composition, or something unexpected would help to boost the impact of the shot. |

DANCING WITH LIGHTby ColeyComment: A really incredible shot. I'm not crazy about the cropping-feel like there is a little TOO much space on the right side, but not letting that really affect my score. I love this, and would bet that the hi-res version is breathtaking. 9 |

Electric Guitarby ChrisW123Comment: I really like the combination of overall soft lighting and "light painting"; it's very evocative of music being produced by the strings. 8 |

Main Street 1938by GringoComment: Absolutely gorgeous! Your choice of color treatment could not be better; the composition is wonderful. The photo has a certain essence of time and place that is amazing - nostalgia to perfection. Terrific work! Certainly one of my favorites for the challenge. |

Blossom of a Christmas Cactusby WesComment: Beautiful color, and nice lighting. The photo feels the tiniest bit soft, but it doesn't hurt the shot at all, in fact kind of works with this particular flower. I like that there is something at the bottom of the shot "grounding" the flower - you didn't leave it just "floating" around against the black background. |
