If I was going to "nitpick" anything at all it would be the composition; I would try cropping down from the top a bit, then in on the right nearly all the way to the great tree that branches off in all directions. But, that's just another opinion and not worth the paper it's written on! haha! Great photo dahkota! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

The thing that really gets me about this photo, (which may well be the cause for the title), is that it looks like the man only has 1 leg. If that is the case, then having him juxtaposed with the movement of the beautiful dancer is quite poignant, especially with the expression on his face.
On the other hand, it could be just the angle of the shot that makes it look, to me, like he has 1 leg.
Terrific photo in any case. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

This was truly one of my favorites, of course, I just love horses! I had the same thought when I first saw the photo since the dark hill did draw my eye down from the horse. However, I scrolled the photo so that was cropped out, and it lost some of the impact. Taking that shoulder point out, also changes the 'look' and feel of the shot. Having that shoulder in there, gives her length and makes her apepar more statuesque. I decided the hill was a good contrast for the light reflecting off her her shoulder. Beautiful shot! Congratulations! |
I went through almost the identical thought process, and ending up coming to the same conclusion. I love this image, and in fact, most strong, powerful images of horses, especially yours.
My big question is: when, OH WHEN, am I going to get to see you in the top three on the home page??? With your images, you should have been there long ago; your work is stunning and inspiring. Oh well, it's only a matter of time! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 05/29/2005 08:32:36 PM | Through the Ashes by heidaComment: This shot iimmediately made me want to ask all kinds of question. The typical who, what, where, when, and why would just not be enough! I want to know the whole story. Are they running away? Is it a volcano? Are those waves crashing in the background? Or is it steam. I will not rest until I know the whole story!
VERY compelling shot in many ways. The light situation is incredibly moody and mysterious. The lone tree draws the eye towards it, as well as the dark figures, whose movement is apparent. Great combination of lines, forms, textures, and light. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/29/2005 08:25:27 PM | Foggy Sunriseby EvaanComment: What really grabbed me with this was those lacy edges of the tree branches, and the beautiful transition of the light and color. I can just barely make out the structures, but they add a depth to the photo that is great. Quite an interesting shot. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
