monster shadowby ursulaComment: Yes!! This is exactly the kind of thing that I am thinking about when I think of "shapes". Great lighting and composition; wonderful execution of the concept of shapes. 10 |

Fading Beautyby TerryGeeComment: Very visually appealing shot. I find the choice of background color to be somewhat unusual, and a little surprising, but it does work well. Composition is effective, the soft focus beautiful. Has an almost sensuous feel to it. 8 |

Cibolo Vaqueroby GordonComment: I love the shot, the sepia tone, the composition. Visually interesting. It doesn't really seem to be "soft focus", but I guess it does have an overall kind of soft "feel" to it. 8 |

Soft Watersby jonpinkComment: Beautiful shot, it makes me think of the travel posters at the travel agent's office. Wonderful color and composition, and I love the soft focus look.8 |

Expecting Motherby aussieComment: The title is a little confusing (though that has no effect on your score1). Is she at the doorway expecting her mother, or is she an expectant mother?? Well, no matter - I love the look of this beautiful black and white. The composition is wonderful - the right side "fades to black" and the left side highlights are kind of "blown out" so that the details fade into nothingness, and all of this works together to give the shot good balance, as well as a sense of mystery - (where is she, what is she thinking, why is she dressed in a formal looking dress??) This shot is intriguing in many respects, and I find it very visually appealing. My only regret with it - that there isn't a little bit more light on her face. 9 |

Warm Glow Of Christmasby jodiecostonComment: Very appealing shot, though I would like to have seen more light on the bottom left area. I like the warm, glowy, intimate feel of the shot, and it is perfect for the soft focus challenge. |

Double focus in the mistby Bela45Comment: I like this. For me it has an interesting composition, and the feel of mystery. It makes you want to know more. Also, if you look at it carefully, the pier with it's very strong shadow can look like a huge steel I-beam projecting out into nothingness, which creates a very odd feel of suspense. Hmm.. I'm going to have to come back to this and spend more time on it, but for now-9 |

Morning Shroudby ImagineerComment: Quite a lovely shot, this has a wonderful ethereal feel to it that I just love. The "framing", (crop), feels a little bit off to me; a somewhat unbalanced feel. It has a much stronger "feel" to me with the tree on the far left cropped out. |
