TOKYOby kolasiComment: This is so beautiful! What a gorgeous expression of Tokyo. I'm happy it did so well in the challenge. 6.3+ in a Best of 2007 photo is quite an accomplishment!

Caryatidsby kolasiComment: Yes, I agree: this photo is much better suited to black and white. I think the architecture being so old looking fits better with a black and white look. . .more nostalgic, plus the contrast of the statutes seems to stand out more. This is really beautiful!

The Planted Hitchhikerby trevytrevComment: Dang! This is a fabulous photo in black and white. Ansel Adams would be impressed! Your contrast is flawlessly beautiful. The composition, with that big ol' barren lone subject tree and the road and soft wintery trees in the background. 10!

week-5.jpgby LanndonKaneComment: Well. . .I actually like the vignaetting. It gives the appearance that the lines are leading you to the light, which makes it seem kind of rich and ethereal. I love the effect of vignaetting. It could be rotated just a smidge to have a perfectly straight horizon, but I think it is a very cool photo.
I'm reading a photography book that says we should do more of this kind of photography, where we take photos of stuff just because we like the way it looks. . not because it has any relevance or specific purposes. It spurs creativity and imagination. :)

Week 05by hajekaComment: This kind of photo does help me tho. Because I like it, and it helps me to realize that you don't have to always have perfectly composed shots with no distractions to have an interesting photo that draws you in and makes you enjoy looking at it.
Is that her big burly body guard behind her? He looks fierce :)

Street at Night (b&w 2008 #2)by nikolaosComment: Oh, I love the feel of this charming street, and the night photography makes it even more appealing to me. Where is this?? I love the curved lines of the street. It looks like a place I would so enjoy strolling down at night.
Really a great photo!
