Fashionistaby GermaineComment: Awwwwww. . . .This is awesome. My little neighbor girl used to love those twirly skirts and always had to come show me when she had one on. She's moved away now, and this made me miss her.

Skylineby GermaineComment: It does look so California, with the vivid blue sky, the palm tree and the contemporary white flat architecture. Like a photo in a travel brochure -- very nice!
I love those luminarias. We used to line our house with them on Christmase Eve (or was it New Year's Eve) when we lived in El Paso. They were the real things with the paper sacks. Looking back, its a wonder more houses weren't burned down when they used the real things, right?

Oct-13-Oh-Mum-Dont-Leaf-Me.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: Oh yes! That will work juuuuuuuuuust fine today :) This is so autumn cheery! We went to try to do the fall planting thing today but were in one of those indecisive moods and ended up coming back, sitting on our deck staring at the yard trying to get a vision.
Now THIS: THAT is a vision! Glorious yellows and changing leaves. Yummy!

12: mcsteamyby muckpondComment: I'm so jealous! The heater already! I love fall and winter so much! But in Texas it's not nearly as brutal as it is in Indiana. We're just excited here because in the mornings and evenings we can turn our air conditioner down a little bit now :)
Oh and yes. . .another interesting conversation piece were it to be simply matted and framed.

13: bewitchedby muckpondComment: Oooooh. . .I like how the motion in the picture on the right picks right up from the one on the left. It gives it a funky kind of interest -- especially with the great way its processed. A wall grouping and conversation piece in a shabby chic kind of decor :)

2nd-Day-11-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment: I'm fascinated about how personal birds get with people. I've never had one, or had the privilege of getting close to one, but I'd love to.
The only thing that works as far as getting rid of the wires is to wait until the bird is at the back of the cage, then put your camera right up practically ON the wires and zoom past them. But if the cage is too small, then you may not be able to do it because you will be too close, but I do that at the zoo alot. I use my zoom and put the lens right up on the cage's wires.
Good luck!!!!

Day-11-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment: Awwwwwww. . . that proud face!!! Well worth any technical flaws! Sometimes, ya just gotta capture the moment and they don't always happen in perfect lighting.
But you can create a curves/levels adjustment LAYER, then on that layer, erase the parts you don't want "adjusted" and that way keep your sky as it was originally.
But like I say, this photo transcends technical perfection. The moment is perfect, and you GOT IT! :)

Only The Young IIby hhuddleComment: Ohhhhh. . .she's so cute! I bet your mind had to be more on hanging out with her than on your work, huh? Savor every minute of it, because it flies by! :)
