Not To Feel Blue When I Get Bad Comments

Oh wow, this is so incredibly stunning I don't even think the fact that the challenge link is extremely tenuous will keep you out of the top five (By the way the title is awful - you should have gone with something that matches the emotionality of this scene). One of the most evocative landscape shots I have ever seen. 10.

Hmmm, I really don't know what to do with this one, so I'll give you a stream of conscious monologue while I consider it. My first thought was that the border is awful. and no further consideration will change that. I tend not to subtract marks for dreadful borders (this one just appears cheesy) so we'll just move on to the image. The composition here is great, the setting is beautiful and I love the misty feel. Overall you have created a beautiful mood with this shot. So congratulations on that level. Now the difficulty arises here in respect of the challenge. Sure, to spend more time with family is an admirable resolution, but Im not sure that this image evokes that for me. This does a wonderful job of conveying the peacefulness of the early morning ride, but I just don't feel that this conveys an individual's resolve to spend more time with their family. This is far too good an image to hammer with a low score, but I can't go higher than five here.

Anyway, to end this on a good note, this is a beautiful image, one you should be proud of. Best of luck with this challenge and future ones.

Interesting composition. The lighting on the face is a little harsh, but I like his expression - it's a very warm and loving photo.

Sensuous, well lit image. Hope the more conservative voters don't drag you down for this funny, well executed shot. 8.

One peice of advice, this might have worked better with a less gaudy condom wrapper.

Well this is a gorgeous image, great DOF and lighting. The challenge link is a little tenuous - I'd say the beauty in these flowers is immediately apparent, and it does seem like the title and the image are just thrown together in the hopes of meeting the challenge. It is however, a new year, and in the spirit of the holiday season I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and a 7 for the obvious technical skill displayed here.

Lopsided or not, this was a tremendously underrated image. Just found it now, - I really like the green cast here, lighting is brilliant.

Well this is a nice image...I really like the dark lighting here. On the other hand, even with the title, there is no way this fits the challenge - it's just too much of a stretch. I cannot see how the fusing of human cells equates with any kind of mechanical process.

Anyway, with respect to the photo itself, I also think that the border is a little much.

With the above in mind I've given this a 3.

Best of luck with future challenges, but I suspect that many will feel the same as me with respect to this one.

Well, would you look at that, a ribbon at last - for some reason I had a hunch this was yours: I think because of the reference you made to trying to do the multi-image comp in the lead up to voting. Well that, and that distinctive border of yours again :P.

Anyway, what impresses me (and more than a few others by the looks of it) about this is the way you managed the reflections in the waterdrops while maintaining the flurescent background. Would be great if you could post something to explain.

Congrats.
