i get the idea, but the composition could use some work. as is, it is tilted and dead on, and the lighting doesn't help. you've picked a good representation, you just need to work on the execution.

i get the idea (actually, i lived through it), but as presented, it is more of a snapshot than a challenge entry. try it again, with a different angle, maybe a lot closer in and not so dead-on, and you'll be surprised at the results. also, if you brace the camera (or use a tripod), the focus will be a lot sharper.

if this doesn't do well, i'm sure it will be because people don't get it...is this a religious icon of a patron saint of the poor? Also, it appears that she is over the snake. A lot of people don't believe in titles and/or don't read them, but just as many do...

this had the makings of a great capture, but the cropping kills it. if you had backed off enough to get the whole basket, it would have been a much stronger shot.

what a beautiful image, just wish the focus was sharper. the main thing i like about this image is that it goes to show that just because you might not be materially rich, it doesn't mean you have to be miserable. i've known a lot of people below the poverty line who's lives were much richer than those above. thanks for sharing this image, and good luck in the challenge.
