while i'm sure this was a moment to appreciate, i'm at odds with the image. there is too much competition for my interest: if i am to be interested in the sunset, the barn is blocking my view. if i am to be interested in the barn, there's not enough detail to satisfy me. i think if you had backed off a bit from the barn, you could have managed a composition that would have allowed you to define your subject, and allow the other elements of the image to work together in a complimentary fashion.

this isn't what i would really call a strong free study entry. as a photograph, it's alright, but it's not very captivating.

from a challenge standpoint, you would want your images to capture and keep the viewers attention. before you submit to a challenge, ask yourself, \"is this something i personally would want to be my pc's wallpaper for the next week?\" ask yourself, \"does this image really rock me, or am i just entering to have something in the challenge?\" it's one thing to be looking to improve your photography, it's a different thing to be looking to improve your ability to compete in challenges. if you are a member, use the portfolio space to get comments and to make improvements. trying to do it soley through challenges puts you in a position of not necessarily getting enough comments to really help improve in either way. hope this helps some, good luck in the future!

this is a wild image. can't say i'm taken by the processing, but intriguing, nonetheless. good luck!

i can assume from the square crop that you trimmed out some uninteresting, non-supportive parts of the frame. i would suggest that you could have gone on a trimmed in a just bit tighter. even though her face is the bright spot, it does get lost in all the detail of the rest of the image, and that's a shame, because she needs to be a bit stronger in order to preserve interest in the image.

wow, what a capture, what a treatment. very nicely done. this is one of those images that need to be enjoyed just as it is, rather than wondering how to fix it. good luck!

nice work. the reflection in the drop, though, seems to be strong enough that you probably could have cropped 60% off the right and 50% off the bottom. as is, i'm afraid you'll be catching the cliche-shot backlash.

sorry if i'm jumping on, but the first thing that hit me was the tilted horizon. not as much as for the tilt, but for seeing just how much more dynamic the image would have been.

edit: i needed the portfolio space ;-)

nicely seen. this is one of those images that makes me think another piece of use gear would be a lightweight extendable ladder (not that this has anything to do with your image. i was just thinking that i'd also enjoy seeing this shot from a higher perspective). lovely colors. good luck with this.

love the image, but imagine that it is much better large than here at 640 pixels. the compressed details leave this feeling a bit more painterly than i prefer. the colors and composition are nicely seen, and you've done a good job with the lighting at that time of day. not quite sure about the title, but that's not an issue. good luck with this!
