the rain danceby gurlwithapenComment: awesome image, and killer processing...but, unfortunately, taken too far for this specific challenge. while i absolutely love this shot (just wish it wasn't so tight on the right), i think the blur is going to hold it back score-wise. hopefully, i'll be wrong about this. |

Outlandish Outlaws....by DrakeComment: great idea, but somehow the execution has been left in the dust. the subjects aren't sharp enough and the framing isn't tight enough. the overall image is muted enough to indicate that a bit more post-processing would have helped (since this is advanced editing, you need to take advantage of every tool available). |

Splashdownby marboComment: nice idea. would have been better if you had shot tighter, so that we could see their expressions a little more clearly. with that much spray, it's obvious that you've stopped the motion; tighter in would really make the image scream off the screen. still good enough for a bump. |

See Spot Runby rasdubComment: please accept my apolgies for what i'm about to say...
this image is spot on!
wonderful image. wish there had been a little more spray, but, all the same, perfectly exposed in a very tough lighting situation. you owe it to yourself to get at least an 11x14 of this for your wall. |

Crushing Chromaticityby CutterComment: i get the idea, and like the colored background, but feel there is too much focus on the hammer and not enough of the glass to really get the idea across. |

ButterFlyby MelTech1Comment: this is a tough shot, especially the way those things fly. even though you have caught this one in flight, the positioning doesn't really do much for the composition. this time of day leaves the colors so washed that you might have done well to consider a bw conversion. |

Fallen Surferby holdingtimeComment: yes, you've stopped some motion, but, what is the subject? the stopped spray? it's difficult to tell with the given composition. it's not enough to technically meet the challenge, but you also need to consider the aesthetics as well. |

Kite Surfer Flyingby vencapComment: you got the right idea, but it needs some work. the image is too muted, indicating that a bit more post-processing is in order. with the sky so flat, a gradient map would have really helped. it also looks as though it could be a bit sharper. i like the vertical shot, but feel the subject is just a bit too centered.
after the challenge, you might consider asking bear and/or others for some more concrete post-processing help and suggestions. |
