The Blue Windowby aKiwiComment: This is like a moden art interpretation but the sun figure does not win my entire interest. I love the colors and the window frame and of course the color of the ajar window doors. This is a great vibrant feast for the eyes and as such it gets bumped higher. |

Parrot Portraitureby buzzrockComment: this is just simply unabashed beauty. The texture bristles and I hear the grating of his beak. Great tonal values and thank you for for not over processing this image. This is the temptation to make it more beautiful. Excellent job and you have my admiration. Bumping up. |

Interludeby PedroComment: A strong study. I have seen this gentleman perform in the NY subways. Bur, this capture is excellent and yes, I can hear the haunting music from this exotic instrument. A great character study in a very natural environment. great dof. Bumping up. |

Solitudeby ZoomdakComment: There is an unquenchable thirst by many people to embrace blue monochromatic images. This capture will satisfy the urge in many and in myself. The touches of dusk orange, being the opposite color of blue enhance the welding of the horizon.

Sky light!by kosmikkreeperComment: Now, this is more of an impressionistic image but it fails to render its full strenght due to the high ceiling which fails to capture my interest. Now, this may be due to the cyber space presentation which hampers a lot of detail. This is an image which I would love to see in print because the pixel limitation keeps it from shinning. However, the general effect is strong enough to get bumped to 6 |

The Ruinby e301Comment: A very charming image but the treatment makes it hard to determine the overall strenght of the light. It appears that the delapidated houses are in a spot light and while such treatment is useful, I think the structures are strong enough to speak for themselves, hence I do not like the darkened edges on the front left and right. This is the type of image which lends itself to a pristine presentation rather than stylized.
However, this is not to take away from the very subject of which this photograph is about. The colors are just beautiful and the very shades of the structures with their almost crumbling state. The angle is very effective and as my eyes go beyond them, there is nothing distracting to bring the eyes right back. The composition gives off that loved sense of nostalgia like of better days gone by. Bumping up to 7 Message edited by author 2004-10-08 23:57:05. |

Fallby ursulaComment: This is beautiful but I would have prefered a different time of day to avoid the harsh shadows against such delicate foliage coloring. Yet, the composition has great strenght and beauty but the viewer feels he wants to see more of the dark backland. Despite all this the coloration invites the eyes back again. Bumping up. |
