Ingrid, thanks for your commment on my beach entry, thought I would give you one too. I think this is a great example of lines and would have given this a 6 or 7. The only problem I could see would be maybe the composition, looking at where the thirds of the photo falls it is difficult for the eye to have lines to follow. So maybe try a different PoV to help set the shot better, thats really all I can think of, I think this is a great example of lines. Thanks again for your comment.

Margie, thanks for your comment on ym ont he beach entry I tought I would return the favor. The firs thing I notice is the file is only 91 kb and 605 px large, instead of closer to the max 150 kb and 640 px max allowable size. Here is a
link to the tutorial for preparing submission for challenges using photoshop. I think this would have helped with all the fine deatils in the photo. I think if you had been a bit better focused it may have helped also. But I love the spider web lines and this a good attempt. thanks again

Amy, thanks for my on the beach entry and I thought i would return the comment. I think this is a good beach shot but i think I would have liked to have seen more beach and not sucha tight crop. Maybe a wider shot with the shell not placed so directly in the middle of the photo. Also I know you didn't have access to photoshop but the size of your photo file is really small 35 kb, but having your file closer to the 150 kb max would have helped abit. Just some suggestions, and thanks for your comment, joe.

jenny, thanks for your comment on my beach entry shot, I thought I would return the favor. I see two big things I think coud have helped your score. THe first is image size, althought it is 640 px, the acutal size of the file is only 69 kb instead of the whole max allowable 150 kb. This is where the slight pixellation is coming from. Here is a link to the tutorial on preparing photos for submission in to challenges. i notice that lots of photos get marked down soley for this reason on not the quality of the photograph. Second I would tried to have atleast one line either straight or vertical to help let the eye follow some familiar lines. Just some suggestions, thanks again for the comment.

Jason, thans for your comment on my photo for on the beach challenge, I thought i would give the comment back, and I agree with your comment that I could have moved over to get that light out of the way, I am not sure how much I noticed when I shot the photo. I think this shot is great, it was one of only three 9's I gave out in the whole challenge. The way you processed this image is excellent. My one complaint would be this border that you used, I think using no border or something much smaller would have helped your score go up a few tenths higher. I think like the other commenters the writing on the bucket hurts the photo and I also think that even though you are obvioulsy trying to find gold your score may have been hurt by not having gold in it. But I think the way you composed the shot was well done and good luck next time. Thanks again for the comment.

Mark, Thanks for your comment on my on the beach entry and I wish I had got that ribbon too! I thought I would return the comment, congrats on breaking six and having a new personal best. My only suggestion would really be to try a crop where the center of the flower in focus is directly in the intersection of the horizontal and vertical rule of thirds. IMO with so little in focus having the one thing in focus in that spot may have helped out, but really I think its great and thats all I can think of for improvement. THanks again.

Jon, thanks for your comment on my Beach entry and thoguth I would give you a comment in return. This is a cool shot and well composed. I enjoy the colors in the photograph as well. The things I could think about for improvement would be to maybe have shot at more of angle so thatyou could see the birds and down the levee into to the water, or maybe just keep your camera on the birds and when they start to fly away strat taking photos of them. Who know if any of those suggestions are good but just a thought. Thanks again.
