Fulcrumby Bear_MusicComment: Fantastic shot! Overprocessed? No. It's just dark and surreal and magical. I'm more and more amazed by the tasteful and VERY different approach to HDR. Is it the additional layers? The b&w luminosity in this case? I don't know. But it knocks me off my feet every time.
(Btw I'm guessing the b&w luminosity layer did that great job on the sky. :) |

Isolationby dafletchrComment: So this is the Salton Sea... magical, unusual mood and color. Great potential for free study :). I think you could boost the contrast and color even more, could be more dramatic. |

Poached Eggby HipychikComment: As Michelle said, this is what I expected to see more in this challenge. Such a strange and beautiful scene, a well deserved center piece in a fine arts exhibit. I really thought it would ribbon. |

Through Yonder Windowby tangueraComment: Not only are you artistic, but you can jump really high! :) Beautiful image, the bright daylight and vibrant colors make it so free, elegant and despite your trouble, so effortless looking! I can see this framed next to the one with the chair and the tea party image. And, you have an empty room for the next challenge!
Btw I don't see how you could have used a remote here :).

Croker Art Museum - PAW15by IndigoButterflyComment: Lovely tones on this one! The flare just adds to the image, imo. But I would agree with Henk, I'm missing some blacks... or it could be a bspurgeon influence :). |

Realby colorcarnivalComment: I knew this was yours! The color gave you away :), fantastic image.
It's an interesting representation of the seemingly mundane, perfect harmony of cats and furniture. I love the golden details on the poor armchair. Those threads tell me, this cat artwork is a long-term work in progress :). |

What We Boughtby spiritualspatulaComment: Like Michelle, I never thought this was yours. First, fantastic work, I think you have achieved exactly what you intended to and especially what the idea behind this challenge is (or as someone in the forums said, what it should be behind all challenges). I deeply admire the thought and effort you put in this image - compared to embarrassingly no effort I put in mine.
You certainly provoked reaction and divided opinions. I don't think the voters did this image the justice, not only in terms of placement but with all those 5s... I would expect more 1s and 10s :). Also - as inspiring this image is to me, so are the thoughts in the comments, especially Paul's. That is the direction I'd like to see DPC evolve in the future.
I hope you will share some more ideas at these fantastic locations you have at your disposal (we need more missile silos :))). Just please, wait till it gets a bit warmer :).
ETA: just realized that fotomann is right behind you with a good nakkie shot :) Message edited by author 2011-04-16 04:44:49. |

Shadow Pickerby KristinaGComment: I think you should continue this in parallel with your chalk work. I love this!
Interesting how, looking at the thumb first, you expect something totally different. Very original and perfectly taken, imo. So much to look at in this image, the hand and the apple, the wall texture barely visible and that tiny bokeh, or whatever it is, in the branches. |

hikerby bspurgeonComment: I guessed this was yours. Fantastic image.
A perfect sense of motion, catching breath and that narrowed view going up a mountain. |
