Vintage.jpgby scalvertComment: Very nice! I like how it has an old time feel to it ... more like a painting than a picture. |

Paint Horse Trotting in Snowby loriprophotoComment: I really like this picture. And I am definitely not one to critize frames. But I gotta say this... this one is bugging me a little.
The problem is that, on the right side, it black line appears as a high contrast shadow against the white border. In effect, it feels like the border is a "thin, but noticeable matte" that is on top of the picture.
HOWEVER, on the left side, the gray shadow sends the opposite message... that the picture is "floating above" the white background.
And so I get confused as I scan left to right on the top edge of the photo. Is the image floating above the white background, or is it underneath the white matte?
The bottom edge (left to right) sort of answers the question, but almost "too late", I've already become confused by the time I reach the bottom.
Since you signed your name on the white border, I would treat it more like a matte. Make it look like a matte (on top of the picture) all the way around, and then it will be just perfect.
(for one who never complains about frames, I've just much more than I would, but I hope I expressed myself clearly) |

7yearsold 2.JPGby Pug-HComment: I really like the side lighting (gives her features a 3D effect). The colors are awesome, especially against the muted background.
Minor nit: I think the focus might have been just a tad back from the eyes... the neckline of the shirt on her right, and also her right ear both look tack sharp, but her eyes look a tad soft (they are only just a little bit closer to the lens, but with very shallow DOF it can make a difference). Anyway, it's really close...
Sorry, but I'm going to ruin your "1-favorite" standing by favoriting it. :-) |

I used FotoFusion by LumaPix.com. This kind of collage is not very creative... it took all of about a minute to put together. Very fast, very easy to use. I highly recommend it. |

Water Lillyby pitsamanComment: Wow... amazing how the DOF is just perfect. Deep enough that very part of the flower is perfect, but shallow enough that everything else is out of focus. Beautifully vivid colors too. And I disagree with the other comment... the green blob (a lily leaf?) on the left helps make the flower stand out. The only thing that bothers me are the lines leading off to the right (just under the right edge of the flower). But I didn't even notice those until I went looking for things to complain about, so forget about it! :-)

"Copyright"by tfarrell23Comment: I don't think your title fits the challenge. That's okay, I like the shot. :-)
The depth of field works well, and perhaps putting the year in the title would have been redundant since it's already in your image. Good luck in the challenge! |
