It seems like there is a lot of grain or noise in the image. Maybe even very aggressive cropping? Maybe it is intentional? It doesn't seem to be helping the photo though, to me.

Really nice image here. The pipe cuts through the lightness of the mist, creating a really strong leading element to the fisherman. That and the contrast being against the concentration of fog make him really stand out well as a subject. I find how the mist slightly hides things, really draws me into the shot, so I can see the bridge, and the reflections and stuff. Really nice job.

Very interesting subject. I think the light and dark sides add interest to the shot. Nice job.

Nice shot here. Great clarity and detail. Good stimulating composition. Good dof. Only minor suggestion I can make (and it is minor), is the possibility of going with a little bit different time of day, getting a more 'raking' light, and really emphasizing the wonderful texture present, and make it really 'pop'.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

This is your entry in the 'Peas!' challenge, it definitely meets the challenge, those are indeed peas. I like the color and luminosity you've brought out of the peas. I can see where you are going with the minimalist approach to the shot, and can appreciate that, but I think that in this particular case, all that space doesn't seem to be really serving a purpose or adding to the dynamics of the composition. I think it is just perhaps a little too much. Or perhaps a case of balance. I'm wondering if maybe less space and just one or two peas could of made for a stronger image, but the same basic concept?
Processing wise, like I said, I like your color, but something just looks a little 'off' as to the peas. Some commenters have touched on it. I can't tell for sure what it is. I am not sure what editing program you are using, I am not familiar with 'clarify' or 'dnr'. (I'm a cs2 person)
Anyways, you've got some nice shots in your port, I'm sure we'll see plenty more in the future.
If you have any questions or comments or anything, feel free to contact me.
Happy shooting,
taterbug :-)

Oh what a wonderful pic! I have commented many times in the past to folks, and try to explain that for a photo of a child to do well, it has to be really outstanding, because a stranger just isn't going to have the 'attachment' that the photog does. This should be my prime example of how to make a child photo work! Great intensity and emotion in the eyes and face. Great full frame, offcentered comp. Nice, uncluttered background, yet enough context to set the scene. And the hat is awesome. Totally grabs the viewers attention and demands they take notice, and yet it frames the face and just takes the attention and draws it into the face totally. And, it works well soft to boot, IMO! Great job! I really like this pic, and I sincerely hope the voters can look beyond the basic 'kid' shot prejudice and see the magic in this image. Wowsers!

Beautiful image. Great model. I like the pose. I like the lighting overall, but it does seem to be a little blown on the hands. Overall, a very nice shot though. Works well soft, IMO.
