This is a cool idea, but to me, this is a case where the centered composition seems to be lacking strong dynamics. Perhaps an offset comp, or using the rule of thirds, and maybe some more negative space could add more weight to the image?

Cool shot. Good lighting and great detail. I like the faded worn flag. I think it portrays a rugged strength type thing. Very cool, symbolicly. Nice job. As I'm sure you already know, keep in mind with your votes that this is a very international site, and the display of an american flag could garner many negative reactions and votes, no matter how well done. Cool pic though, I like it :-)

This is an awesome image! Very, very strong composition. The rugged, sweeping foreground leads my eye very nicely to the lighthouse, with a lot of interest on the way. The lighting is beautiful, that with the white of the building against all the predominant neutral tones really make the subject stand out strongly. Very well done, great entry for this challenge :-)

Interesting subject, looks like it could have potential. Focus seems a little off, and the one bright light is a bit of a distracting element. I find my eye wandering, looking for a strong point of interest to hold my attention. Perhaps simplifying the composition a little could make for a stronger presentation.
