Tilted? Looks perfectly straight to me.
It's probably something to do with how images look to those so close to the magnetic field of the North Pole

They look more like pedipalps to me, the second pair of appendages of the cephalothorax in Arachnida, homologous with mandibles in Crustacea, and corresponding to the mandibles of insects.
Although, I can see where the confusion arose... pedipalps of spiders have the same segmentation as the legs, but the tarsus is undivided, and the pretarsus has no lateral claws.
