Congrats on an absolute professional quality photograph Chris.
I had this picked to be in the top ten and was a bit taken back that it wasn't. Stunning work.

Congrats on your top 20 finish René.
This was an absolute pleasure to view and am in awe as to it's quality.
One of the best shots to grace this site in a very long time.

John,
This was a superb photograph, but as we all know, didn't have the wow factor. I sure would have been proud to have taken this and would have probably chosen it as a best of 04 shot too. Was one of my favorites overall.
Keep 'em coming.

Composition is good regarding sky vs. land area. Image is not very clear/sharp and may benefit from a little more saturation to help the sky area"pop". ((5))

Nice subject matter for a shot. Here's what I see needs improvement:
The horizon is dead-center for one - this hurts an image as the eyes don't know if they should go up or down. The trees are a bit harsh on contrast and could use adjustment in the saturation brightness area. Hope this helps. ((5))

Makes me hungry looking at it (LOL)
Lighting is too harsh on top of the bagel and is blown-out. Decent color level without being over-saturated. Photographically speaking, the main subject in the dead center hurts the composition. ((5))

Depth of field? What depth of field (LOL)
Great Macro shot with an exceptional level of detail. ((7))

The reflection of the bird in the water is nice, as is the color, but the upper area of this shot is over-exposed, hurting the overall look. ((5))

Dark, moody, excellent lighting and a very unusual pose/composition sets this aside from most. The eye detail grabs and holds my own eyes. Perhaps a little tighter crop may look better with just a bit off the top, just above the thumb, as the hair on top is a bit distracting in my opinion. ((7))

Though it is a very precious personal picture, it does fall a bit short on clarity/sharpness and with the main subject being dead center, kinda' hurts the photographic composition aspect. ((5))
