An extra point for the clever idea! Colors are great aginst the black background - and great lighting. Compositionally, I'd like to see more of the trap and definitely the entire silver end of the PS/2 cable.

Ornament on Pottery

It's a very colorful ornament - but the image does not really grab me. The DoF is nice for the background - but also resulted in soft focus for area that should be sharp on the pottery and the yellow and red string / tassle.

The large glare on the ornament is a detractor.

Of the three images for which you asked for comments, this is the one I prefer. It has a nice feel to it - good composition and excellent purple. I really lik the shadow - taking on a differnt shape than the vase itself.

What may be a self portraint reflected also adds a little spark of interest.

All three images suffer from less than optimum lighting.

There have been several thistles in the challenge and this is a nice one. Your blurred background and the darkness behind the purple are both excellent. It's also nice and sharp where it needs to be.
