Too much light? I can sense there is a ton of detail that wants to be shown but just needs the right light. Maybe a bit soft in the focus too? If this was a flash shot then maybe you could experiment with using sheer or very white cloth a foot or so in front of the flash to defuse.

I'm no expert but at first glance this looks like a heavily flashed picture. I like the placement of the flowers but the lighting just doesn't do them justice. Also at the top right the background shows a fair amount of not so pretty grain. I think the bottom does too but it's too dark to show up.

The back ground looks like a rug from the 70's! But that's just a for fun comment. The little flowers are out of focus but the round thing is very sharp, which makes the flowers look even more out of focus than they actually are. Don't know what it is but this picture is alittle hard to look at for more than a minute. Must be the flowers.

Amazing hair color. Background seems a bit much orange. Maybe a different color wall with that interesting picture on it? Also the lighting on the face is very bright compared to the low contrast background. Lastly the eye expression seems like she is angry. Might have been better to have less intensity in the stare unless you were trying to make a compare with the wall picture. In any case she looks mean and I want to look away or grab a stick!

This pair of scrached and dirty orange sun glasses doesn't draw my intrest into the photo. The rear where the ear peice goes out of picture then back in again is distracting expecially against the sharp white border. But I have to say the shadow/reflection on the surface is nice to look at. Maybe that should have been the subject?
