| 03/16/2003 08:15:16 AM | Iron Eighteenby ChrisW123Comment: Nice use of dof. a bit over exposed on the top part of the 8. Although I like this, it's not exactly what I believed was required from the challenge description. My apologies if you've heard this a million times before. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 03/16/2003 08:12:56 AM | Sliver of Skyby GeneralEComment: That's the TINIEST little 8 I've ever seen. lol. Very clever. I'm impressed you even noticed it. Well done. Annida | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/16/2003 08:12:17 AM | A Natural Fourby connieComment: It's hard to see the four, because of the background and all the other upward moving branch things. But, it's there, and it's tres cool. I like your desaturation of the colours in this. they work well. -annida |
| 03/16/2003 08:11:11 AM | 7by muckpondComment: Very nice 7 you have there. I like this picture. What is a bit odd is the background which seems to blend with the branch. It's a shame you didn't play with the contrasts more to bring out the branch more. Well done though -annida | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 03/16/2003 12:28:28 AM | Misleading Linesby mariomelComment: Greetings from the critique club!
My first impressions of this picture are wowee! This is so incredibly busy, but not in a bad way, if you get my drift. I like this picture a lot, and it's got a lot of lines in it, but... I agree with some of the commenters. The idea of the leading lines was for the lines to lead your eyes toward the main subject of your photo. There are a lot of loose interpretations that can be made, but this picture just doesn't fit, however loosely I try to make it fit.
Well, aside the fact that in my opinion this may not fit the challenge in the traditional sense of the word. ...
I think this is a stunning photograph, and the score definitely reflects that opinion as being truth. It is well composed, and the colours are perfect. In every other way this photograph is perfect. I think the only thing that got your score lower was that people didn't think it met the challenge enough.
Good luck in future challenges mate :)

| 03/16/2003 12:11:47 AM | Eggs Buried In The Snowby AmieeComment: Hello from the Critique Club!
My first impression is that this seems like a very cool picture. White is a very sterile colour, and it speaks of cold, and sterility to me. Something which doesn't add up to eggs.
I think jmsetzler was right with his comment in that a bit of directional light to give some kind of shadows, and or depth to the photo would have been nice.
I actually like the grainy look. It gives the picture the depth it has at the moment. Have you thought about using neat image? it's a very nice little programme that will remove graininess from your pictures.
I don't really understand why you scored so low, but a lot of people on DPC have a thing about perfect focus and lighting. If that's not a factor in your picture, you get docked points. It's a sad fact that creativity is not often rewarded. I think part of the challenge of submitting to this site, and competing is trying to find the right formula of what is acceptable in the eyes of the voters, and with that extra splash of you. It's so hard to decide what that formula is, but with a bit of observation it's seeable.
Good luck in the future challenges :)

| 03/03/2003 05:52:35 AM | Seeing Beyondby NatashaComment: Hello From the Critique Club!
Goody for getting one of my favorites of the week! Well, let me tell you what I thought of this. I can say I absolutely loved it. It is very very simple, and very effective. The lighting is perfect, the white isn't too bright, and the twigs in the background are nicely in focus. I think maybe it would look better without the curvy lines at the top. It would then be a complete study of negative space, which is not what you were aiming for. This could be used for various magazines, including architecture, real estate, nature, etc.
Well done!
